Claude’s usage limits were just doubled for FREE
I just stumbled upon an article on Anthropic’s site announcing a usage-doubling promotion for Claude that’s running throughout March.
For a limited time, users can send twice as many prompts during certain hours — and the promotion even applies to the free plan.

What’s changing
During the promotion, usage limits for Claude are temporarily doubled during off-peak hours.
The promotion runs from March 13 to March 27, and the increased limits apply automatically — there’s nothing users need to enable.
The extra usage kicks in outside 8 AM – 2 PM ET, when system demand is typically lower.
Who gets the extra usage
The promotion applies to all Claude users, including:
- Free users
- Pro subscribers
- Teams using Claude tools
It also works across the whole Claude ecosystem, including the web app and developer tools like Claude Code.
Why Anthropic is doing this
According to Anthropic, the promotion is meant as a temporary “thank you” to users, while also encouraging people to experiment with Claude during hours when infrastructure demand is lower.
For developers and heavy users who frequently hit limits, this effectively means longer sessions and more prompts per day.

Good time to push Claude harder
If you’ve been running into usage limits recently, this is probably the best moment to push Claude harder — especially if you’re testing it for coding, research, or automation workflows.
